Meeting of Permanent Representatives of the Friends of Water on 30 November
The Steering Committee members of the Group of Friends of Water: the Permanent Representatives of Finland, Hungary, Tajikistan, Thailand and Switzerland have jointly convened a meeting at United Nations Headquarters on 30 November to update Member States about recent developments in the international water arena and share views regarding the preparation of upcoming water related events. H.E. Ambassador Katalin Annamária Bogyay, Permanent Representative of Hungary to the UN debriefed her counterparts about the working-level dialogues on improving the integration and coordination of the work of the UN on the implementation of SDG 6 on water and sanitation, which she conducted as co-moderator with Tajikistan on 22 March and 30 May 2018.
Hungary presents its Contributions to Preserving Religious Pluralism in the Nineveh Region
The Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See to the UN, in cooperation with the Knights of Columbus and the Nineveh Recinstruction Committee (NRC) organized a panel discussion to discuss ways to re-build shattered communities and strengthen religious pluralism in conflict-affected areas of Northen Iraq. As a panelist, H.E. Ambassador Katalin Annamária Bogyay presented the comprehensive humanitarian aid, reconstruction and development programs provided by the Hungarian Government in the Nineveh region and beyond.
“Salon d’hiver: Journey of a Man” - Piano Recital at the Hungarian Mission to the UN
On 27 November 2017, H.E. Ambassador Katalin Bogyay, Permanent Representative of Hungary to the United Nations hosted a “Salon d’hiver”, this time with a special focus on the role of men in art and life through a colorful variety of music from Haydn, Liszt, Bartók and Kodály, interpreted by pianist Imre Pátkai. The evening was organized in the framework of the Kodály Memorial Year 2017.
Hungary welcomes the adoption of SC Resolution 2388 at the Open Debate of the Security Council on Trafficking in Persons in Conflict Situations
On November 21, 2017, Ambassador Katalin Annamária Bogyay, Permanent Representative of Hungary to the UN, addressed the Security Council at the Open Debate on Trafficking in Persons in Conflict Situations. In her statement, Ambassador Bogyay welcomed the adoption of SC Resolution 2388 and highlighted the importance of enhanced coordination, close cooperation and strong leadership in combatting Human Trafficking.
